Wind Power Systems™, LLC (WPS) has designed, developed, and is manufacturing a series of unique Patent Pending compact vertical axis wind turbines for cost effective affordable applications in the Distributed "Small & Micro Wind" governmental, military, commercial, residential, marine, and emergency markets offering scalable & multiple option installations, rapid ROI, easy assembly, and minimal maintenance.
WPS™ is a free standing money and energy cost saving clean-tech operating power system deriving its energy entirely from earth friendly limitless wind and solar resources with a small and light footprint.
WPS™ successfully completed rigid testing of the 3rd generation prototype and is currently in the initial production stage. We have engaged aerospace & mechanical engineers to perform complete design reviews and institute a continuous improvement system using wind tunnel testing and computational fluid dynamics (CFD). The result has been to optimize the proficiency of the WPS unit, resulting in a highly efficient, differentiated “Small Wind” system with more power generation from the smallest and lightest possible turbine.
Our Strategic Relationship agreement with a highly respected, publicly traded engineering company gives WPS the logistical and organizational breadth to roll-out very quickly and on a national scale.
A ‘State of the Art’ manufacturing facility, located in a low income Enterprise Zone has been identified to produce our clean – tech systems. The firm will partner with us for future growth and product modifications based on industry acceptance and requirements. The company has produced both the first and second generation WPS prototypes.
The WPS™ commercial and residential systems are compact and light weight for rooftop or pole mounted installation and are inexpensive to produce, transport, and install, thus eliminating many of the challenges of traditional turbines. The ease of shipping and simple unskilled assembly makes the systems ideal for export.
Wind is a form of solar energy. Winds are caused by the uneven heating of the atmosphere by the sun, the irregularities of the earth's surface, and rotation of the earth. Wind flow patterns are modified by the earth's terrain, bodies of water, and vegetation. We use this wind flow, or motion energy, for many purposes: sailing, flying a kite, and even generating electricity.
The terms wind energy or wind power describes the process by which the wind is used to generate mechanical power or electricity. Wind turbines convert the kinetic energy in the wind into mechanical power. This mechanical power can be used for specific tasks (such as grinding grain or pumping water) or a generator can convert this mechanical power into electricity.
So how do wind turbines make electricity? Simply stated, a wind turbine works the opposite of a fan. Instead of using electricity to make wind, like a fan, wind turbines use wind to make electricity. The wind turns the blades, which spin a shaft, which connects to a generator and makes electricity.
